Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1937
In the mid-2000s there was a particular vogue for new takes on this classic Grimm Brothers fairy tale, but Disney's original cartoon takes the biscuit. Not only does it have memorable songs and charm, but it introduced the concept of the Evil – and ferociously glamorous – Queen, a trope that has elbowed her way into cinemagoing audience's hearts ever since.
