Everton fans have joked an eight-year-old should be parachuted into the first team after his outrageous strike won the club’s goal of the season.
Social media users have called for the Under 9 academy star to start against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The talented youngster, who has not been named, scored the wonder goal in an academy match against Derby County.
He controls a cleared ball with two deft touches before directing an exquisite volley into the top right corner of net.
“Start him against Arsenal at the weekend!” joked one Everton fan.
Another wrote: “Class that lad! For an 8-year-old as well... get him in the team!”
Everton face Arsenal at the Emirates in their final Premier League game of the season with a seventh-placed finish guaranteed.
