'I lost £27,000 in the Arch Cru saga. Can I get my money back?'

I hope you are able to add some impetus in resolving this long-running saga that I and many other investors are having with Capita/CF Arch Cru.

Nobody at Capita seems keen on concluding the winding-up process and it feels as if it is quite happy to just let it run indefinitely. The latest communication states that a process that should have concluded in 2015 is now going to be no sooner than the end of 2018, if at all.

It is many years since trading was suspended and a long time ago that we received our interim payment from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). We have suffered significant hardship because of this.

There is substantial combined assets still to be liquidated and distributed.

Personally you and your wife still have almost £27,000 outstanding.

My nagging Capita for more answers has only brought ones that are much the same as those you already had. Speaking to the FSCS has been similarly ineffective.

A Capita spokesman said that it will continue to liaise with the relevant Guernsey companies with the aim of ensuring the realisation of the funds is completed at the earliest possible opportunity in a way that is in the interests of investors.

I had been told to expect more news at the end of last year, but none came and now it seems that none is in the offing. The FSCS website at fscs.org.uk has a section specifically with questions and answers about Arch Cru.

Or call the FSCS on 0800 678 1100 or 020 7741 4100.
