Lisa Marie Presley’s eight-year-old twin daughters have been taken into care after “disturbing” photos and videos were found on the computer of their father.

Ms Presley, the 49-year-old daughter of Elvis Presley, filed for divorce from the girls’ father Michael Lockwood in June, after ten years of marriage.

The couple’s daughters had been living with her but have now been placed in the custody of California’s child services.

Ms Presley said in court documents that she was “shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach”.

"When I discovered the photos on [Lockwood's] computer, and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach," she wrote.

"I had no idea that [he] had taken those photos. I will refrain from describing the photographs in detail out of respect for the privacy of my family."

In the documents, Ms Presley claims she found Mr Lockwood to "have hundreds of inappropriate photos of children and is facing allegations of sexual abuse and neglect."

Though the documents note he has "not yet been convicted of crimes related to his possession of these photos," they argue the fact "that he possessed them is documented evidence of conduct that has destroyed the mental or emotional calm of [Presley]."

But the four-time married singer has struggled for many years to cope with her family’s fame and fortune.

When Elvis died in 1977, he left his entire estate to his only child, to be claimed on her 25th birthday. Ms Presley inherited $100 million.

She met and married Danny Keough, a fellow Scientologist, at a Scientology church and the couple had two children: Benjamin, 23, and Riley, now 27, a successful model and actress.

Divorcing Mr Keough, she then married Michael Jackson – spending two years wedded to the man who, at the time, was the biggest music star in the world.

“I loved him,” said Miss Keough of her stepfather, in an interview published on Friday.

Promoting her latest television series, Starz, she told how, despite being mostly raised by her father between Hawaii and Los Angeles, she often made frequent visits to Graceland and Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.

“There were toys everywhere, animals everywhere, kids everywhere,” said Miss Keough. “It was like being at Disneyland all day.”

Ms Presley was married to actor Nicolas Cage – a self-professed Elvis obsessive –for 108 days in 2002.

In 2006, in Japan, dressed as a geisha, she married Mr Lockwood - a guitarist with her band.

But now Ms Presley claims that he has burnt through her money, and she is being forced to live at the home of her adult daughter.

Ms Presley is currently paying for two nannies to supervise visits between her husband and the two girls, Finley and Harper.

Mr Lockwood is contesting the post-nuptial agreement he and Ms Presley signed in 2007, which stipulates that neither party can claim the assets of the other in the case of their marriage collapsing. He is arguing that his wife had coerced him into signing the document.

Ms Presley has filed court documents insisting that most of her fortune has gone.

“I am considering all options to deal with the massive debt that exists, caused by my former business manager and [Lockwood],” she said.

A 15th century manor she owns in Sussex “is no longer an asset,” she claimed, explaining that she owes nearly $5.4 million (£4.3m) on the home, despite its market value of $2 million.

“It has a negative value as my former business manager failed to make payments and now the taxes owed are in excess of the value of the property,” she stated in the court documents.

“I will be responsible for any deficiencies if the property is seized.”

“Currently I derive no income as a singer/songwriter and I have never supported myself from my income as a singer/songwriter,” she said, adding that she has not had “stable housing” since moving back to California.

“I lived briefly with my mother, in treatment, and then with friends rent free,” she said.

“I currently live in the home of my adult daughter Riley Keough and her husband. I do not pay rent or mortgage in that residence, but I do contribute to the household expenses by paying for Riley’s housekeeper as well as additional household supplies.”

She insisted that she has not taken any holidays, and has not travelled outside of California since June.

“I have not flown in any airplane, much less a private plane, in over 18 months,” she said.

Ms Presley also accused Mr Lockwood of earning more than he claims to.

"My understanding. . .is that [he] has been working with a friend of his and composing music for iTunes. I also understand he assists in the valuation, purchase, and sale of guitars.

“I do not know the amount of his actual monthly income, but I contend that he has some income which he is choosing not to disclose.”

She later claimed that her ex had given their daughters extravagant gifts in the last six months, including an expensive fish tank, season passes to Universal Studios, laptops, mobile phones, clothes, toys, jewellery, dinners out, day trips and more.

“In the last month I have observed [Lockwood] driving a new car, a black Ford SUV which he neglected to mention to the court,” she added in the filing, according to Radar Online.
