To celebrate the exciting redesign of its shop, the V&A is offering Telegraph readers the chance to a win a £500 spending spree.
If you loved the old V&A Shop, then you will be bowled over by the new one. The space takes inspiration from the V&A’s founding mission to inspire British designers and manufacturers. Just as designers were employed to innovate in the 19th century, here you will find contemporary designers showcasing new materials and original techniques.
The new shop will feature an area to view a curated collection of the V&A’s most iconic images available to order as custom prints, alongside a jewellery pavilion featuring more than 600 pieces from contemporary designers, and the ‘pocket studio’ – a space to champion new design talent and celebrate makers and materials. This temporary space will focus on a different material every four months, starting with ceramics.
The new space will be more than a shop, providing a platform for contemporary designers, makers and manufacturers to showcase their works. As well as being a location where the V&A’s collections are reinterpreted, the shop is an exercise in philanthropy, because every purchase funds the future of this iconic London museum.
